What if I can't take the exam on time can I file for an extension?

• Yes. You can request an extension before the assigned exam expiration date. An extension is available for $95 and grants an additional 90 days. The request must be submitted in writing either by email at testing@nestacertifed.com or by mail.
  
  
• Extension requests to due medical issues must be provided in writing and a signed physician’s note must be provided. The request will then be reviewed by the NESTA Executive Board. Do I get a practice exam with my materials?

• Your manual on a CD-ROM includes "Exam Alerts", which are questions in each chapter that help you prepare for your exam.

What is the PFT Exam Candidate Handbook?

How can I schedule my exam?

What materials may I bring into the testing center?

• Personal items other than those provided by Thomson Prometric will not be allowed into the computer based exam room. No food or drink is allowed into exam room.

How long will it take to get my results?

• Upon completion of the exam, you will be given a score of pass or fail. The passing score is answering 70 questions correct out of 100. One of the following instructions will be given:
  
  
  • If you pass the exam, NESTA will notify you by email within 3-8 business days that your results have been received and verified. At that time we will confirm the spelling of your name and mailing address. An official certificate will be mailed to you within 3-4 weeks of passing the exam.
    
    
  • If you DO NOT pass the exam, NESTA will notify you by email within 3-8 business days that your results have been received and verified. Beginning January 1, 2008 students can retake their exam after at least 60 days following their failed examination attempt. The retest fee is $95 and allows an additional 90 days to take the exam. You can request and pay securely online at: www.nestacertified.com/fees.html
    
    
  • Note: The 60 day waiting period is in accordance with NESTA's pending accreditation in order to ensure basic level competency through knowledge learned.
    
    To protect the integrity of the exam, exam questions and answers will NOT be available following the exam.

If I don’t pass the exam or do not show up for the exam, can I receive a refund?

• Refunds are only allowed within 30 days of program or examination purchase. Exam and program refunds are provided after a 10% deduction fee from initial exam cost (exam candidates will receive 90% of original exam fee payment) as long as the exam has either not been scheduled or taken or has been cancelled by exam candidate 48 hours or more prior to scheduled exam. Exam candidates who have either taken their exam, cancelled within 48 hours of exam appointment or who did not show up for their scheduled exam appointment will forfeit their exam fees and will not be eligible for a refund. Transfers of examination opportunities will not be allowed. Only the individual whose name is listed as the original exam candidate will be eligible to utilize the purchased exam opportunity.
